‘UNBRIDLED RUBBISH’ Elon Musk’s dad Errol weighs in on Tesla boss’ ‘disastrous’ parenting and slams shock claim he ‘mentally tortured’ son
ELON Musk's dad Errol has slammed his son's parenting abilities and denied ever being mentally abusive after he was a central figure in a new biography.
The tech billionaire's father is speaking out on the damning portrait of the two's estranged relationship in biographer Walter Isaacson's latest book.
Elon is notorious for being the father of 11 children by many different women, with the latest anonymous child being revealed in his biography.
From impregnating singer Grimes with baby boy X Æ A-12 to having in-vitro twins with Shivon Zilis, a director at his company Neuralink, Elon has a lot on his plate.
Thinking back to his experience as a father, Errol, 77, warned that children are highly critical, and slammed Elon's decision to prolifically procreate.
"Elon spends very little time with his children and the result has been quite disastrous," he told the Daily Mail.
"They're not connected to him at all - the same as Kimbal [Elon's brother]. They were not hands-on parents like I was."
A father of seven of his own children, Errol was heavily criticized in Isaacson's book for allegedly switching between loving support and "mental abuse."
Errol's so-called "Dr. Jekkel and Mr. Hyde" dynamic culminated in one moment where Elon says was severely beaten up at school.
According to Isaacson, Errol told him that the boy who attacked Elon had just lost his father to suicide and Elon had called him "stupid."
Elon told the author that his dad berated him for an hour after he got back from the hospital, calling him an "idiot" and "just worthless."
His younger brother Kimbal told the biographer that witnessing their father's tirade against Elon was the worst memory of his life.
The book claims that Elon was left with PTSD from his childhood and that Errol he subjected his son to "mental torture."
Errol has pushed back on Elon's side of the story, and said the portrait of him as an abusive father is "unbridled rubbish."
Errol used his relationship with his daughter Rose, Elon's half-sister, to prove that he was a good father.
He said that Rose sends him a birthday card every year that contains the same message: "Everything I am, I owe to you."
"It's true of Elon too," he told the Daily Mail.
"Everything he is, he owes to me.
"I saw that with humility. I did my best. That book is not the truth. It's fodder for a play.
"I emailed the author and told him that."
In an exclusive chat with The U.S. Sun, Errol previously denied Elon's claim that he was bullied in school and said that he would have noticed if there was a problem.
He said: “Elon was with me 24/7. I took him to school and fetched him from school.
“I would have known about such a thing immediately. At the very least, Kimbal would have told me.
“I would have seen signs such as damaged clothes.
“I had a really rough schooling myself in the poorer areas of Johannesburg, so I was very aware of such things.”
Errol feels that Isaacson created a "superhero" novel that pits heroes versus villains to make his son look impenetrable.
"Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde are in it, too. Played by me."
"Little Pip and Oliver Twist, who later become the heroes, are played by Elon and Kimbal," he said.
After his parents divorced, Elon initially went to live with his mother in Canada.
But he was sent back to South Africa to live with Errol just a year later.
Errol said the split had a big impact on Elon's mental state at the time.
"He was very unsure of himself," the 77-year-old said.
"Until he was 12 he slept with me in the main bedroom on my big double bed.
"He had his own room but I never told him to go to his room."
Although there were struggles, the Musks were never short on money during Elon's youth.
"It was a privileged world," said Errol, who was the part owner of an emerald mine.
In exclusive chats with The U.S. Sun, Errol has also voiced fears that his billionaire son could be assassinated.
And he also slammed rumors that Elon uses drugs and has mental health issues.
