Gauteng launches Learner’s License Project. 19 Oct The Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) and Diageo South Africa will officially launch the Learner’s License Project on Thursday, 19 October 2023, at Xavier Junction License and Testing Centre in Johannesburg. The initiative aims to assist young people between the ages of 17-34 with administrative fees for securing learners’ licenses across TISH areas (Townships, Informal Settlements and Hostels). The Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG), in conjunction with Diageo South Africa, will on Thursday, 19 October 2023, officially launch the Learner’s License Project at Xavier Junction License and Testing Centre in Johannesburg.

The "Wrong Side of the Road” Learners License Project is a campaign that aims to assist young people between the ages of 17-34 with administrative fees for securing learners’ licenses across TISH areas (Townships, Informal Settlements and Hostels) in Gauteng.

Launched during Transport Month, the initiative seeks not to only empower disadvantaged youth and enhance their chances of employability but also, it is aimed at promoting responsible driving early, creating safer roads in Gauteng.
